JOB DETAILS:
Overview
The Fundraising and Grant Writer is a crucial volunteer position responsible for securing the financial resources necessary to support the network’s activities and growth. This role involves researching funding opportunities, writing grant proposals, organizing fundraising events, and maintaining donor relationships to ensure ongoing support for the organization’s mission.

Responsibilities:
Research and Identify Potential Funding Sources:
• Conduct comprehensive research to identify potential donors, including foundations, government programs, corporate sponsors, and individual philanthropists.
• Monitor funding trends and opportunities in the field of human rights and activism.
• Create a database of potential funding sources with detailed information on application requirements and deadlines.
2. Write and Submit Grant Proposals:
• Develop compelling grant proposals that effectively communicate the network’s mission, goals, and funding needs.
• Tailor each proposal to meet the specific criteria and priorities of the funding source.
• Ensure that all grant applications are submitted in a timely manner and follow up as necessary.
Organize Fundraising Events and Campaigns:
• Plan and execute fundraising events, such as galas, benefit concerts, online crowdfunding campaigns, and charity auctions.
• Coordinate logistics, including venue selection, marketing, ticket sales, and volunteer management.
• Work with network members to mobilize support and participation in fundraising activities.
Maintain Relationships with Donors:
• Build and sustain relationships with current and prospective donors through regular communication and engagement.
• Provide donors with updates on the network’s activities, achievements, and impact.
• Ensure timely acknowledgment of donations and fulfillment of any reporting requirements stipulated by donors.
Develop Fundraising Materials:
• Create fundraising materials, including brochures, newsletters, and social media content, to promote the network’s work and attract donors.
• Ensure that all materials are aligned with the network’s branding and messaging.
Monitor and Evaluate Fundraising Efforts:
• Track the success of fundraising initiatives using established metrics and indicators.
• Prepare reports on fundraising activities, outcomes, and financial status for internal stakeholders and funders.
• Continuously seek feedback and identify areas for improvement in fundraising strategies.

Skills and Qualifications:
• Passion for human rights and social justice.
• Excellent writing, communication, and research skills.
• Proven experience in grant writing and fundraising is preferred.
• Strong organizational and project management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in using fundraising software and tools is an asset.
Time Commitment:
• The Fundraising and Grant Writer role requires a commitment of approximately 10 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate peak periods and urgent needs.
