Building on the success of its first Centre in South Africa, AIMS launched the Next Einstein Initiative (NEI) in 2008 to scale up and roll out the AIMS model across the continent. Five additional centers were established in Senegal (2011), Ghana (2012), Cameroon (2013), Tanzania (2014), and Rwanda (2016). Its global secretariat is situated in Kigali, Rwanda and it has global offices in United Kingdom,Germany, and Canada.

Graphic Designer!

  • Reporting to the Senior Communications and Public Engagement Manager, you will be a key resource to work on AIMS branding guidelines and design all AIMS network collateral in line with AIMS branding guidelines including brochures, banners, posters, program documents,and conference presentations.
  • As the Graphics Designer, you will primarily be responsible for telling the AIMS story visually through compelling graphic designs, data visualization, and animated videos for both internal and external audiences.
  • As the ideal candidate, you will manage design and printing for all network events, campaigns and public engagement activities, manage all regular design requests as per a monthly/yearly calendar, provide social media covers and electronic designs, for example,GlFs.
  • Additionally, you will provide draft illustrations/artwork for approval, manage final layout and printing requirements to job completion and also manage procurement documents and vendors related to daily work.
    This is a full-time opportunity based at the Secretariat in Kigali, Rwanda.

Do you have what we need?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphics and Advertising Design and two years‘ experience in design or certificate with four years‘ experience working in design
  • Knowledge in Adobe creative suite, (Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design, Premier pro,after effects, character animator) etc.
  • Self-driven and ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Attention to details
  • Understanding social media dynamics & use for impact
  • Ability and desire to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Experience handling highly confidential information in a professional manner
  • Be prepared to work outside of normal working hours due to the geographic spread of the Network and the need to be flexible and responsive to the media environment
