JOB DETAILS:
Head Safari Guide– 5* property – Lower Zambezi, Zambia
A brand new 5* lodge is being built on the Lower Zambezi. It will be one of the most luxurious in the region and is set to become the top safari destination on the Lower Zambezi. This is a very exciting opportunity to become part of a brand-new team, starting from the ground up. This magnificent property will officially open its doors to its first international guests early 2022 and successful candidates will commence work from March 2022.
We are looking to recruit staff at all levels for the Lodge, but one of the most critical at this stage is for qualified Guides.
Minimum Requirements:
• Solid experience as a Guide in a 5-star bush/safari establishment
• A relevant tertiary qualification
• Must be prepared to live-n
• Thrives in a remote environment
• Passionate about customer service and delivering the best experience
• Passionate about the African Bush, conservation and wildlife
• Driven, energetic, compassionate and ambitious, with strong leadership and mentoring skills.
• Unrelenting attention to detail and high standards.
• Structured manager with experience of leading diverse teams.
• Open minded and able to think outside of the box.
• The ability to motivate and inspire yourself and others.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and communication.
• Zambian citizens would be preferred
Duties Include:
• Conduct guest activities mainly focused on Private guiding and agents and all tasks involved therewith
• Responsible for ensuring the waking up of guests is done on time.
• Responsible for guest activity and transfer planning. Making sure guest expectations are met and exceeded, flexible planning is expected at all times.
• Responsible for guiding
• Communication with the camp on time for your return to camp so welcome/food is on time when guests arrive back in camp
• Hosting of guests and communicate with both waiter/waitress about drink suggestions and presentation of drinks
• Most importantly giving guests the best experience that they will always remember and share with their friends.
• Responsible for company equipment such as vehicles, boats, guiding equipment. Holding the guiding team responsible for the equipment issued out to them.
• Reporting to the Camp Manager
