Konkela Mineral Resources Limited (KMRL) a subsidiary of Konkola Copper Mines Plc (KCM Plc), is one of the largest copper producers in Zambia. It operates underground and open pit mines located at Nchanga and Konkola. KMRL's growth trajectory presents exciting opportunities to leverage minerals and human resources to enhance stakeholder value and become Zambia's pride. To support this vision KMRI would like to recruit an experienced and qualified individual for the following position in the Trust School Department KMRL operates two Trust Schools in Chingola and Chillabombwe, which ran from primary to secondary school level with a total number of 2,400 pupils. It also rans an A-level class at Nchanga Trust School. The Company's education interventions comprises among other things, providing scholarships to employees dependents who are A-level graduates from its Nchanga Trust School to study in core mining operation programs and in also other disciplines such as Mining, Geology, Metallurgy. Engineering and Medicine at local and foreign Universities. It also has a separate scholarship program for pupils in government schools To support this vision KMRI would like to recruit a qualified and experienced individual for the above position
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To plan, co-ordinate and administer the provision of high quality education to produce well-rounded
MAIN ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Create and maintain a conducive learning teaching atmosphere.
• Ensure that policies and instruction in canicular and co-curricular programs are carried out effectively according to the Ministry of Education's requirements
• Must be familiar with Ministry of Education Policy regarding private schools operation
• Ensure the provision of high standard of education acceptable both locally and internationally, fully exploiting available resources to improve performance.
• Promote a safe and healthy learning environment as per Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Policy.
• Draw up a realistic school budget for management approval and ensure that the school has resources to run all its programs efficiently.
• Establish and maintain a tone of discipline among teachers, pupils and ancillary staff to promote safety and good conduct at all times in accordance with the stipulated code of conduct
• Ensure the school has a full complement of qualified teachers by Liaising with the Principal and Human Resource Department to ensure vacancies are promptly filled to maintain high standard of education.
• Ensure proper care, maintenance and utilization of school equipment, buildings and grounds to promote sustainability in the provision of education in a safe environment.
REQUIREMENTS:
Grade 12 certificate
Minimum degree in Education
• At least five years' experience as Head teacher. Aged between 40 and 55 years.
• Mature, innovative and focused
• High integrity levels
• Full registration with Teaching Council of Zambia
Work Hours: 8
Experience in Months: 60
Level of Education: Bachelor Degree
