JOB DETAILS:
ROLE:
Responsible to the Chief Executive Officer for the development, implementation and monitoring of a compliance strategy as well as overall management of the accounting function of the business by ensuring that appropriate control frameworks and policies are implemented. This role gives the right candidate an opportunity to develop and grow professionally. The candidate will be involved in key business decisions and have the chance to contribute to the strategy development and growth of the business.
Main Responsibilities:
• Capturing all daily transactions from the company bank accounts.
• Review and Correction of Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly Accounts.
• Preparation of Annual Budget and responsible for cost control
• Preparation and Submission of quarterly returns to be sent to Bank of Zambia (BOZ)
• Coordinating with auditors and ensuring all audit deliverables are delivered in good time. This also involves reviewing of draft financials.
• Filing and uploading of Zambia Revenue Authority returns
• Review and approving of Loan Applications
• Reviewing and Uploading of Operating expenditure batches.
• Oversee the development of a consistent operating control framework for the identification, management, monitoring and reporting of compliance risks and issues
• Maintain professional working relationships with regulators and other stakeholders
• Creation of a financial crime risk management policy that establishes the principles, commitment to and management of financial crime risks
• Undertaking other duties of an appropriate nature in consultation with the Chief Executive Officer

• Ability to work with minimum supervision and take initiative.
• Energetic and willing to get involved with running business operations
• Commercial mind-set and customer service oriented.
• Excellent communication skills with superiors and subordinates.
• Good computer skills, including knowledge of financial accounting packages
• Very good attention to detail and flexibility.
• Team player with good leadership skills.

Summary Of Qualifications
• Minimum of ZICA Qualification
• Minimum 2-3 years’ professional experience, preferably in a microfinance organisation
• Experience in a microfinance organisation and BOZ regulation procedures will be an added advantage.

Level of Education: Bachelor Degree
