JOB DETAILS:
JOB PURPOSE
The Head Commercial reports to the Chief Executive Officer and will be responsible for growing Digital PayGo’s business, increasing its revenue, finding new business opportunities, and driving quality service delivery. The holder of this role also leads the sales function with the purpose of helping the company achieve its revenue targets and strategic goals. The holder of the role will also define and communicate the Commercial Department’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and targets to team members, analyse patterns in consumer and market behaviour, and subsequently define data-driven action strategies to consistently optimize the business’s commercial performance. The Head Commercial will also play a leadership role for the entire customer journey management from prospecting to solution development and customer experience while overseeing the company’s innovation efforts.
Job Responsibilities
• Leads and oversees Digital Paygo’s sales strategies in order to maximize and enhance the company’s consumer reach and customer engagement and satisfaction.
• Leads the company’s efforts in the development of products and services.
• Establishes and builds effective relationships with cross-functional partners/stakeholders (Internal & External) in order to drive commercially effective business models
• Leads the Trade Development, Business Development and Product marketing teams.
• Generates and qualifies new leads and using different approaches to penetrate prospective accounts through developing new business relationships.
• Defines sales objectives and drives the team to achieve targets.
• Oversees product refinement opportunities or new products by remaining current on industry trends, market activities, and competitors.
• Identifies, manages, and mitigates risks associated with the Trade Development aspects of the organisation.
• Oversees the development of business cases for products as well as pitch documentation tailored to the specific customer needs.
• Keeps abreast with product pricing and develops pricing policies.
• Presents the company to potential clients through various communication channels, i.e. in personal meetings, calls or by e-mails.
• Maintains relationships with Corporates/Companies by providing support, information, and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities; recommending profit and service improvements
• Interacts effectively with other departments.
• Ensures effective handover of signed contracts to project delivery teams enabling fulfilment of contract obligations.
• Builds a high performing sales team to execute end-to-end sales including outreach, pitching, negotiation, closing deals and implementation.
• Ensures a robust after-sales process to deliver strong customer engagement.
• Monitors market trends and provides regular competitor analysis.
• Keeps up to date with industry trends and developments.
• Any other responsibilities or tasks as may be assigned by Management.

• Internal: All departments
• External: Vendors, partners, customers and regulators.

Qualifications
• Minimum of a Degree in a Business-related course.
• At least five (5) years’ experience in a similar role (with at least 2-3 years in the Fintech industry)
• Grade 12 Certificate with credit or above in Mathematics and English and any other three subjects.
• Digital Finance Services (DFS) is an added advantage.
