Health Manager
World Vision Rwanda seeks to hire a highly qualified, dedicated and experienced national for the position of Health Manager for ‘Ingobyi’ Project. The position will be based in Kigali and reporting to the Health and WASH Technical Program Manager.
‘Ingobyi’ is a five year project that aims to improve the quality of Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (RMNCH) and Malaria services, in a sustainable manner with the goal of reducing infant and maternal mortality in Rwanda. The Ingobyi project will build upon the tremendous gains Rwanda has made in the health sector.
Purpose of the position:
The Health Manager will represent World Vision Rwanda in implementation of the Ingobyi Project. S/he will coordinator and provide technical support to World Vision staff involved in the implementation of the Project. The job holder will ensure that World Vision contributes to the success of the project though creation of the health care-seeking behavior and community health quality services.
The major responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the project’s lead and provide technical and managerial support to staff for the implementation of Ingobyi project.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with all Ingobyi project stakeholders. Represent World Vision Rwanda inthe Ingobyi project to external entities at related professional and technical meetings and conferences (the donor, government, etc.).
  • Ensure quality reports, documentation and dissemination of project successes, innovations and best practices in accordance with internal and donor requirements
  • Provide strategic advice to World Vision Rwanda Senior Leadership on proper prepositioning of health services delivery for funding opportunities
  • Ensure the project contributes to World Vision Rwanda’s overall strategic objectives.
  • Provide support in the planning and implementation of assessments, operations research, and knowledge management activities
  • Manage project financial resources with proper accountability and stewardship
  • Liaise with World Vision U.S. support office staff as the first point of contact for regular check in calls, reporting, updates, etc.
    Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
    The following knowledge, skills and abilities may be acquired through a combination of formal schooling, self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training.
  • Minimum Qualification required: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Clinical Medicine, public health, social sciences or related field. Master’s degree in a relevant field would be an added advantage
    Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience implementing maternal and child health programs / health service delivery or other related fields.
  • Experience in managing people / organizing and providing training and capacity building to staffs and partners.
  • Experience in training and mentorship of community health workers on RMNCH/malaria programs
  • Previous work with development agencies, NGOs. Experience working with USAID-funded activities is preferred.
    Technical Skills & Abilities:
  • Proficiency in Kinyarwanda and English. French will be an advantage.
  • Strong writing and organizational skills for writing case studies, documenting lessons learnt
  • Excellent management and coordination skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report-writing and formal communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency especially MS Office and Lotus Notes
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity, flexible worldview, and ability to work with a wide range of people from different backgrounds.
  • Emotional and spiritual maturity and ability to lead a team of professionals
