Position: Hotel Accountant
The Urban Hotel Group and its affiliates develop, own, and operate a diverse portfolio of hospitality properties. We are seeking a dedicated Hotel Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will report to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and will be responsible for managing the accounting department of the hotel. Key responsibilities include supervising and directing the financial activities of the hotel, safeguarding assets, and preparing all financial reports. The Hotel Accountant will also lead the annual budget preparation process and monitor budget adherence throughout the year. Additionally, the successful candidate will interview, train, supervise, counsel, schedule, and evaluate accounting staff.
Requirements:
• Professional Certificate
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience
• Excellent written and spoken English Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Pastel, Xero)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience in financial reporting and budget management
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

Essential Functions:
1. Prepare monthly financial statements, variance reports, bank reconciliations, cash flow analyses, and other reports as required by the General Manager
2. Prepare balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports as directed
3. Supervise and monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit, and collections
4. Ensure effective management of accounts receivable to minimize credit risk
5. Maintain sufficient cash flow
6. Oversee payroll data entry and all other payroll functions
7. Ensure timely billing of all direct bill accounts with complete backup and accurate invoices
8. Resolve accounting-related disputes and respond to requests for clarification in a timely manner
9. Maintain daily filing of documents for research requests from guests and in-house users
10. Work closely with all departments to solve systems and control problems
11. Monitor third-party billing and payments from room sales Ensure proper and prompt payment of statutory obligations Monitor transaction flow from POS to PMS to prevent revenue loss
12. Ensure a timely month-end close
13. Assist in daily cash management functions, including online banking, electronic funds transfers, check balances, accounts reconciliation, and funding requests Regularly attend management meetings
Additional Job Duties:
Manager on duty shifts as needed Conduct daily audits of cash deposits
Undertake special projects as assigned by management or ownership
