Are you looking to bring new ideas and take on board the owners vision for modernising and making the establishment a Morden and vibrant place for clients and employees a like.
We a small long established and historical hotel in Northern Zambia, looking for a dynamic Manager to run and help us modernise the hotel, it could be your next move up into management or you are already in management but looking to a new challenge which offers new horizons and challenges
The role and responsibilities:
General Manager reporting to the Managing Director and responsible for running managing a hotel and responsible for:
• Marketing the business
• Profit and loss
• Banking and payroll
• Procurement
• Health and Safety (On premises and for staff and clients)
• Making sure rooms and communal rooms are cleaned thoroughly and consistently
• Good and effective Security inside and around the premises
• Creating and presenting development plans to the board
• Develop and execute maintenance plans ensuring planned maintenance and repairs are carried out effectively and to good standards.
• Rota and staff management and supervision.
• Regular reviews and reports to the Managing Director / Board as required.
• Review and action customer feedback and create targeted action plans.
• Recruitment of key staff subject to approval from the Board.
• Moving the business and customer experience forward.
The ideal candidate will preferably have the following:
• Hospitality experience for at least 5 years
• Held a role previously in management for 3 years (Talented individuals without management experience will also be considered)
• Business acumen
• Experience of managing at least 5-10 members of staff desirable
• Computer literate (MS Suite, email etc)
• Customer facing experience is desirable
• A good communicator to both management, staff and customers.
• Grade 12 minimum qualifications with at least English and Maths
• Good written and spoken communication in English.
