JOB DETAILS:
The Lusaka Integrated Solid Waste Management Company (LISWMC) was established following the enactment of the Solid Waste Regulation and Management Act No. 20 of 2018 as an autonomous Solid Waste Management Utility in order to provide effective solid waste management services in the City of Lusaka and has taken over solid waste management functions from the Lusaka City Council.
The Company is responsible for the following functions:
i. Facilitate and provide solid waste services in order to ensure a clean, safe and healthy environment;
ii. Manage solid waste infrastructure in order to ensure sound treatment and disposal;
iii. Enforce solid waste standards in order to ensure compliance and enhance provision of quality services;
iv. Facilitate private sector participation in the development and provision of solid waste management in order to ensure accessible, sufficient and affordable services;
v. Manage corporate affairs and consumer services in order to enhance smooth operations of the institution;
vi. Manage financial and other resources in order to ensure their prudent utilisation and accountability; and
vii. Manage the provision of independent assurance on the institution’s risk management and governance in order to ensure the effectiveness of internal control systems.
In its quest to inspire mindset change towards solid waste management and provide the above listed services, LISWMC is looking for suitably qualified, creative and self-driven individuals to join the Company on the under listed positions to be based in Lusaka City;
16. JOB TITLE: Human Resource Management and Development (01 Position)
JOB PURPOSE
To undertake human resource management and development functions in order to facilitate efficient operations of the Company.
REPORTS TO: Manager - Human Resource and Administration
Main Duties and Accountabilities (Without Limitation)
Undertakes effectively the recruitment activities and coordinating onboarding and staff orientation programs.
Undertakes effectively and timely human resource development functions and staff training in order to facilitate staff development and enhance staff morale and optimize utilization of human capital.
Undertakes timely Interpretation and dissemination of labour laws and terms and conditions of service in order to ensure compliance and promote fairness in their application.
Carry out the implementation of wellness and safety programmes in order to enhance staff wellbeing, mitigate the impact of HIV/Aids and other ailments.
Undertakes effectively implementation of staff welfare programmes in order to motivate staff and enhance productivity.
Undertakes timely staff discipline and grievance handling in order to uphold professionalism.
Ensures the effective preparation of payroll inputs in order to facilitate payment of salaries and other allowances.
Conducts period audit of HR files and records to ensure all required documents are collected and filed while maintaining integrity, accuracy and confidentiality of HR information.
REQUIREMENTS
Full Grade 12 School Certificate or equivalent.
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or equivalent.
Member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management.
At least 2 years work relevant work experience.

REMUNERATION PACKAGE
The successful candidates shall be offered a Fixed Term Contract or permanent and pensionable position (depending on the position) with an attractive salary and benefits package corresponding with the provision of the Conditions of Service of LISWMC.
