Job Title: Human Resources Officer

JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for providing comprehensive overall administrative support to and effective and efficient support to the Administration. .
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

ADMINISTRATION
• Develop a Fleet Management Policy and monitor its compliance by all staff.
• Develop a comprehensive vehicle logbook and track vehicle and fuel usage on a monthly basis for business and personal trips
• Assist the Transport Officer to ensure that all vehicles are in good condition and report all required servicing and/or repairs and schedule bookings with the respective service providers.
• Manage the office petty cash float.
HUMAN RESOURCES
• Participate in the recruitment process of new staff as may be required.
• Assist with the orientation and induction of new staff when necessary.
• Look after the health, safety and welfare of all employees
• Monitor staff performance and attendance
• Organise staff training activities
• Advise line managers and other employees on employment law and the employer’s own employment policies and procedures
• Prepare job descriptions and advertisements for vacancies
• Track employee contracts and send reminders to Accounts & Administration and HODs two months prior to the end of each employee’s contract.
• Assist the Accounts & Administration Manager with accrued leave tracking
• Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data, like absences, overtime and leaves
• Arrange for international travels and prepare itineraries for staff.

Education and experience:
• A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or Public Administration
• Three (3) years proven work experience
Skills (Special Training or Competence):
• Confident and able to communicate with people at all levels.
• Able to use initiative and work with minimum supervision.
• Flexibility and able to respond to change.
• Knowledge of labour laws
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities and multi-task.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Reliable and well organized.
• Computer literate and experience with Microsoft Office applications
