Job Description
Ict Officer – Scanner Maintenance, Salary Grade Zra06 (1 Position), Business Facilitation, Ict Function
A. Purpose
Reporting directly to the Senior Cargo Scanner Maintenance Officer – Customs Systems Support, the job holder will be responsible for providing first line support and maintain, repair, validate where prescribed, Cargo scanner systems in ZRA and to ensure their services and facilities meet business needs through integration of various systems as well as to provide support for any outsourced systems.

B. Main Duties/Accountabilities
1. Performing Monthly, Quarterly, Annual Preventive Maintenance;
2. Repairing Scanners during breakdown and validating second level repairs that are done by service providers;
3. Making Regular backups for scanned images for each cargo scanner in the area;
4. Auditing scanned images monthly;
5. DBMS and other systems file backups;
6. Creating user Profiles and managing access to the server;
7. Maintaining inventory and spare parts for each cargo scanner;
8. Ensuring that the cargo scanners are connected online and interfaced with the ASYCUDA system;
9. Strengthening existing information systems to enhance efficiency, coordination and complete integration between various ZRA systems with the cargo scanners;
10. Ensuring that all Scanner Operators have updated Dosimeter Badges and ensure calibration when due;
11. Ensuring that all cargo scanner licenses are Valid and well displayed; and
12. Recommending to Management when there is need for an upgrade or acquiring new technologies.

C. Minimum Requirements
1. Grade Twelve School Certificate/General Certificate of Education Equivalent with five (5) Credits or better;
2. Diploma in Electronic/Electrical/ Information Technology Engineering or equivalent;
3. Minimum four (4) years’ relevant post qualifying work experience in X-Ray Scanner Machines; and
4. Must be a valid member of ICTAZ or any other relevant professional body.
