Role Summary:
The IT Specialist is responsible for managing the firm’s internal IT infrastructure and systems while also providing technical audit support on IT-related matters during audit engagements. This dual-function role involves both day-to-day IT operations and contributing to IT audit assignments, particularly focusing on systems security, data integrity, and technology-related risk assessments. The Specialist will work closely with the audit team to support the delivery of integrated audit services.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Internal IT Support
Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot the firm’s network infrastructure, hardware, software, and user accounts.
Administer Microsoft 365, SharePoint, endpoint security, and backup systems.
Respond to user support requests and resolve IT issues in a timely manner.
Ensure data security, system uptime, and compliance with IT policies and ISO27001 requirements.
Maintain asset registers and system documentation.
B. IT Audit Support
Participate in external audit assignments where IT systems are in scope.
Conduct reviews of client IT general controls (ITGC), application controls, and cybersecurity practices.
Support the audit team with technology risk assessments and evaluation of IT infrastructure.
Prepare audit working papers and assist with reporting of IT-related risks and recommendations.
Key Competencies:
Strong knowledge of network administration, Microsoft 365, and basic server environments.
Understanding of IT General Controls (ITGC), cybersecurity frameworks, and risk management principles.
Ability to interpret and apply audit procedures related to IT systems.
Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
CISA qualification.
3+ years of experience in IT support and/or IT audit environments.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
IT issue resolution time and user satisfaction.
Uptime of core IT infrastructure.
Compliance with IT security and ISO27001 controls.
Quality and timeliness of IT audit documentation.
Value of IT insights provided to audit teams.
Professional Development:
Continuous learning and certifications in IT security, audit, and emerging technologies are encouraged and supported.
Participation in firm-wide internal audits, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
