Job Description

• Monitor technology development, including newly developed Industrial Property and Industrial patents that are relevant to NIRDAs Value Chains.
  
• Work closely with the R&D function to analyse new IP and assess relevance to local industries.
  
• Connect with Inventors and manufacturers to understand inventions and processes to follow to be granted patents.
  
• Analyze scientific and technical documents, including previously granted patents, to assess whether an invention is new and innovative
  
• Advise on the drafting, and filing of patent applications to the business inventor
  

Job Profile

Master’s Degree in Law with a major in Intellectual Property Laws with a minimum of three years working experience in Industrial Information, Intellectual Property, Marketing and Business Development

Key technical skills and knowledge required:

• Strong command of written and spoken English
  
• Understanding of the national, regional and international context of research and development agenda
  
• Mastery of local, regional and international Intellectual Property laws applying to industrial research and development.
  
• Ability to assess business technological potential and conduct with ease research on industry technology development
  
• Ability to conduct extensive research on technology IP landscape for various value chains.
  
• Ability to communicate and present legal perspective and guidance to various audiences
  
• Demonstrated excellent report writing and presentation skills
  
• Strong command of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
