Field of activity
The project will be implemented in Mauritania, Uganda, Madagascar and Malawi and will soon be expanded to Zambia. The project contributes to the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) by supporting the population in increasing fish production and income from sustainable artisanal fisheries and aquaculture. The fields of action are "Improving small-scale coastal fishing and aquaculture", "Promoting environmentally sound and socially responsible fish production" and "Reducing illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing". The country package in Zambia focuses on increasing productivity in small-scale aquaculture and small-scale fisheries by offering appropriate training and advisory services, as well as building a multi-stakeholder platform to share information and experience.

Your tasks
• Support of technical advice in the implementation of sustainable aquaculture in pondsSupport in the preparation of training materials on aquaculture and fisheries management
• Support in the creation of training materials on aquaculture and fishery management adapted to the level of knowledge of local pond keepers and fishermen
• Assistance in advising aquaculture smallholders to increase their production and better internal organization for the collective purchase of inputs and sale of produced fish.
• Assistance in advising dam committees and fishermen in the sustainable management of dams
• Support in the training of multipliers in cooperation with the Global Project for Food Security and Resilience
• Accompanying the content voting with on decentralized stocking fish production in Luapula * Support for the implementation of a monitoring and evaluation system
• Support in the preparation of facts, speeches and progress reports to the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, as well as presentation of the presentation of the project in the project regions

Your profile
• Degree in agriculture, biology, fisheries, aquaculture, resource management or a related field
• First work experience in aquaculture or fishery management, ideally in international cooperation (IZ), Zambia or Southern Africa
• Experience in the development and implementation of fishery management plans and community co-management
• Knowledge in project management
• Experiences in the handling of EU co-financed projects
• Professional appearance and sensitive handling in political communication and advice of smallholder producers, high integrity
• Business fluent German and English in spoken and written; Knowledge of another local language is an advantage
