Job Title: Lab Biotechnologists for Mycobacteriology
Level: 5.II
Reports To: Director of Microbiology Unit

Job Description
• Culture and Drug sensitivity Testing (DST)
• Drug Sensitivity Testing using Hain test (PCR)
• TB slides reading, Auramine slides reading
• Culture media, ZN, Auramine and decontamination reagents preparation
• DST media preparation
• Carry out TB laboratory test for Hotels
• Carry out training of biotechnologists from Centres for Diagnosis and Treatment (CDT)of tuberculosis (DH and HC)
• Conduct laboratory supervision for CDTof tuberculosis (DH and HC)
• Carry out quality control of CDT and provide feed back
• Participate in external quality control
• Other duties assigned by the supervisor.
• In collaboration with TB & Other Respiratory Communicable diseases Division, participate in
• biomedical TB research and surveys
Job Profile
Bachelor degree in Medical laboratory sciences or Biomedical Laboratory sciences, Having worked in TB diagnosis is of added advantage.
