JOB DETAILS:
Laboratory Technologist – (1 Position, Front Line Management) – Human Resources
Department
The position reports to the Medical Officer in charge of the health facility.
The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples from outpatients, ordering of Lab reagents and consumables, Lab inventory control to ensure no stock outs and expiries.

Key Performance Areas
• Collecting blood samples from Outpatients
• Examination and reporting of a wide range of samples from Outpatient department.
• Compile Laboratory weekly, monthly, and yearly reports.
• Promptly reporting of communicable diseases detected to Medical Officer in Charge.
• Performing internal quality control on Laboratory equipment, reagents and test kits.
• Daily Maintenance of Laboratory equipment and reporting of breakdowns promptly.
• Ordering of Laboratory reagents and consumables from bulk store.
• Laboratory inventory control to ensure no stock outs and expiries.
• Dispatching of samples to referral Laboratories
• Adhere to Laboratory safety and housekeeping Standard Operating Procedures.

Minimum Requirements
• Grade 12 Certificate
• Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology.
• Fully registered with the Health Professionals Council of Zambia (HPCZ)
• Minimum 1 year post qualification experience
• Computer literacy is an added advantage
• Must be between 20 to 40 years of age.
• Must be honest and uphold maximum confidentiality

Experience in Months: 12

Level of Education: Associate Degree
