JOB DETAILS:
LEGAL AND POLITICAL AFFAIRS SECRETARY .
DUTIES
– Maintain up-to- date knowledge of events relating political issues in general and in particular as they affect the countries and thematic mandates for which that staff member is responsible.
– Monitor operational development in CEFANET, reviewing available information in situation rep[orts, cables, correspondence, media etc.
– Identify matters for follow up and the need for action, ensure consultation and inputfrom the actors involved and help coordinate time response to issues and questions raised in the fireld, as well as monitor follow up on outstanding issues.
– Monitor national and international regional level political development and provide advice to field ambassadors on the ground.
– Prepare meetings of the secretary general and and deputy secretary gednaral under secretary general with officials from other countries and the organisations purview.
– Participate in fact finding and other missions to countries within the assifgned area and responsibilities.
– Participate in provisions of secretariat services to security council, general assembly, subsidizing organisations, negotiating bodies, comference, meeting and special missions.cordinate
LEGAL- provide legal advice to the society
– Coordinate and fufil legal roles and interactions in favour of CEFANET with:
(i) Government legal authorities at both local and international levels.
(ii) Following up cases and looking after CEFANET cases at courts, ministry of justice and extervnal law firms at both national and international levels.
(iii) Maintain and update a legal dadtabase of CEFANET and regulatiuons and circulate relevant laws and legal updates to the society.
(iv) Provide internl support and coordination for legal compliance and international level.

QUALIFICATIONS
– A FULL GRADE 12 CERTIFICATR WITH FIVE O-LEVELS
– barchelor of laws
– a minimum of three years related work experience
Professional qualification to include- ability to perform legal research.
– Membership in legal professional body.
– Thouror knowledge of the laws of SADC.
– Thorough knowledge of court and legal procedures
– Ability to provide guidance and advice on legal policy legislative issues and ability to negotiatiate through collaboration.
– Ability to define problems problems, collect data, establish facts, recommend and implement soltyion in ti,ely fashion
. – Excellent verbal and written skills.
