Requirements and skills:
1. Ability to use precision tools (e.g., calipers) to take accurate measurements
2. Knowledge of the properties of metal and other material.
3. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals
4. Good at math with analytical abilities
5. Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items
6. Proven experience as machinist
7. Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.)
8. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety.

Machinist Job Responsibilities:
1. Operates and maintains lathe, drilling, and milling machines.
2. Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints, or samples to ensure accurate production.
3. Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping.
4. Selects appropriate machine, tools and settings for a given task.
5. Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.
6. Monitors production, adjusting feed and other settings, as necessary.
7. Identifies need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs.
8. Maintains a safe and clean workstation.
9.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
