JOB DETAILS:

Mpulungu Harbour Corporation Limited (MHCL) is inviting applications from suitably qualified members of the public to apply for the position of Management Accountant. He/ She will responsible for preparing and interpreting information in order to provide insights into the Corporations’ performance. Provides monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts and works with the annual budget to aid planning and decision making. Point of accountability for revenue analysis, cost control, variance analysis and project appraisal.
Specifically, the Job duties include but are not limited to:

Preparation of Management accounts and Financial Reporting
• Preparation of timely and accurate financial reports.
• Providing financial analysis and forecasting
• Analyze financial performance and forecast longer term horizons
• Preparation of monthly management accounts to agreed timescales, including balance sheet reconciliations and variance commentary
• Assist with the centralization of
• Finance activities as and when required
• Maintain accruals and prepayments schedules.
• Preparation of monthly treasury report
Budgeting & Performance Management
• Provide and analyze financial and non-financial information to assist management to monitor performance.
• Integrated planning and performance management
• To assist in the development and management of a planning and performance management framework that addresses organizational requirements
• To assist in the identification of effective KPls.
• Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and budget reviews.
• Reconcile spending with budget
• Maintain and manage the CapEx process
Governance, Compliance and Internal Controls
• To ensure the organization’s policies are current and are being adhered to
• Assist with the year-end audit
• To analyze processing and procedural requirements and recommend standard procedures and systems to be followed across the organization.
• Ensure suitable internal controls are in place.
• Assist in the training of staff in new processes or procedures.
Other Duties but not limited to
• Recommend methods and strategies for cutting cost
• Make upper-level strategy recommendations based on financials
• To provide effective support to the Finance Manager in the day-to-day management of the activities of the finance department


2.0 Requirements
• At least Three (3) years’ experience at the same level
• Proficiency in use of sage evolution pastel and other information systems is a plus
• Ability to prepare/write comprehensive reports.


3.0 Qualifications
• Grade 12 school certificate
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy/equivalent professional qualifications (CIMA/ACCA/CA)
