JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose
Chitambo Agro Processing Limited (the “Company”) is a greenfield project that is owned by the Industrial Development Corporation (“IDC”) in partnership with the Chitambo District Cooperative Union (CDCU).
The Company has invested in a cassava processing plant for the production of cassava meal, starch, and animal feed for the local and regional markets.

Key Responsibilities
• Fit and assemble metal parts to fabricate production machines and other equipment they test and identify defective or worn mechanical components.
• Repairs and maintains, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturers specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, like engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment, using hand tools, power tools, and precision-measuring testing instruments.
• Observing mechanical devices in operation and detecting causes of malfunction.
• Dismantling devices to gain access to remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools.
• Inspecting used parts to define changes in dimensional requirements.
• Preparation of the maintenance schedules in collaboration with the foreman.
• Initiate purchase orders for machine parts and tools.
• Utilise precision measuring instrument to check parts for accuracy and fit.
• Responsible for constructing and assembling mechanical system, which could be factory machines or piping that is used to transport the steam and fluids that are involved in manufacturing processing.
• Making repairs on diesel-powered equipment, while also carry out welding and repair.
• Assembling structural components to create a finished system using blueprint as a guide.
• Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience
1. Grade 12 certificate.
2. Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field.
3. Three (3) years’ work experience in similar position.
4. Member of EIZ.
