With Country Programs in South Sudan, Uganda, Zambia, Somalia and Kenya, AAH-I has over 20 years ‘experience working with communities in conflict and post –conflict situation
Action Africa Help International Zambia (AAHZ) is partnering with the World Food Programme to conduct pre-distribution, onsite monitoring, and post distribution monitoring in the on-going drought crisis emergency response in parts of western province. The intervention will be implemented in Lukulu, Mitete, Limulunga, and Kalabo districts of western province.
In order to achieve that, AAH-I is seeking to recruit well qualified, experienced and innovative individuals to fill the following position:
Monitoring Assistants
Position Type: Fixed Term Contract (4 months)
Reports to: Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
Location: Lukulu, Mitete, Limulunga, and Kalabo
3.1 Job Purpose
The Monitoring Assistants will constitute part of the team that will collect pre-distribution, on-site monitoring, and post distribution data using both qualitative and quantitative methods. This job will ensure all quality assurance processes are conducted before, during, and after the food distribution. .

Job Responsibilities:
• Verify that the identification and registration of eligible beneficiaries is being carried out in line with agreed criteria, guidelines and agreements signed between WFP and DMMU as well as DMMU and Implementing Partners.
• Conduct food distribution and post distribution monitoring in sampled sites
• Monitoring that correct food distribution procedures are being followed at the distribution sites as outlined in guidelines and agreements with implementing partners.
• Undertake informal household assessment about the overall impact of the food assistance in tackling problems of food insecurity
• Undertake monthly post distribution monitoring to assess beneficiaries’ access to, use of, and satisfaction with the food assistance provided
• Provide guidance for implementing partners and local authorities particularly District Disaster Management Committees (DDMCs) on WFP operational practices, monitoring tools and methods in order to support them to complete self-monitoring tasks and to contribute to the visibility of WFP and respective donors in the coverage arears.
• Maintain information records and monitoring plan documentation, such as records of commodity movement and programme checklists, in order to assist in the effective delivery and distribution of food items or non-food items.


Job Skills:
• Strong analytical and logical ability to monitor the implementation of programme activities
• Provide leadership and support to staff working at community level
• Design and management skills
• Good moderation, facilitation and training skills
• Good computer applications skills.


  Job Qualifications:
• A Diploma in Project Monitoring and Evaluation, or in statistics, demographics, public policy, international development, economics, or any other related field
• At least 2 years’ practical work experience in Monitoring, Evaluation & Research, preferably in donor funded projects
• Demonstrated experience in food management, onsite and post distribution monitoring
• Experience in participatory methodologies is an added advantage

• A Diploma in Project Monitoring and Evaluation, or in statistics, demographics, public policy, international development, economics, or any other related field
