JOB DETAILS:
WeForest Zambia is a local NGO that is looking to expand its team with a new professional M&E Officer who will work in a dynamic team on our objective towards co-managing Katanino Forest Reserve and increasing forest cover in Zambia .Achieving this objective will entail forest restoration through assisted natural regeneration; local community livelihood improvement& development; and gender equitable development. The M&E Officer will work under the direct supervision of the Project Manager and will mainly be active in the field in Katanino, Masaiti district.. .
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Conduct socio-economic surveys to assess the baseline status of the local community in Katanino and follow-up monitoring
2. Conduct forest inventories to assess the baseline status of the forest in Katanino Forest Reserve and the surrounding communities and follow-up monitoring
3. Collect field data, digitize and analyse them
4. Help in delivering training among the local communities in Katanino and at the district level
5. Perform monitoring and evaluation duties to the highest standard
6. Help in project document development (including translation to local languages)
7. Assist in grant applications where and when needed
8. Participate in Project Outreach Programmes in schools and other public Institutions
9. Contribute accurate and up to date project content to the organisation’s website and other mass media.
10. Communication directly with the Project Manager regarding project activities amongst others.

Job Qualifications:
• Education: B.Sc. in Development Studies/Project Management; Knowledge in forestry and a certificate in Monitoring and Evaluation is an added advantage.
• Language: Fluent in English (both speaking and writing) and Bemba/Lamba
• Experience: Preferably3 years’ relevant work experience in ther Development sector with the ability to develop monitoring systems for project implementation
• Skills: Excellent coordination, training and communication skills
• Strong and comfortable working in the field with the local community
• Be willing to relocate and live in Katanino, Masaiti District..
