JOB DETAILS:
The Judiciary is an arm of Government of the Republic of Zambia. Its mission is "to provide effective and efficient administration of Justice accessible to all people in Zambia through impartial and timely adjudication without fear or favour". In order to improve service delivery, the Judiciary wishes to fill the following vacancies:
1. COURT INTERPRETER (SALARY SCALE JSS 04) 01 POSITION-(ANNUAL BASIC SALARY OF K59,310.48)
The successful candidate will fill a position at Sesheke Subordinate Court and will be reporting to the Clerk of Court and will as well be responsible for the following duties.
Main Duties
• Converting speech or sign language from one language into another in real time. Provide a linguistically true legally appropriate interpretation.
• Sight reading or sight translating various translations of documents.
• Working closely with lawyers, witnesses and defendants to relay information and depositions, hearings and other Court cases.
• Relaying the style and tone of the original language.
• Managing work schedules to meet deadlines.
• Taking care of exhibits and making them appropriately. Maintaining the Courts dairy.
• Preparing monthly and annual returns.
Knowledge And Skill Requirements:
• Full Form V or Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate with Five (5) 'O' levels credit or better including English and Mathematics.
• Able to speak fluently at least in (3) three local languages preferably Silozi, Tonga, Bemba and Nyanja.
• Related professional skills are an added advantage.
• The candidate must be 18 to 35 years of age.

2. ASSISTANT COURT CLERK (SALARY SCALE JSS 03) X 02 POSITIONS- (ANNUAL BASIC SALARY OF K57,043.58)
The successful candidates will fill positions at Senanga Local Courts Office and Lui Local Court (Grade B).
Job Purpose:
• Undertakes effectively and efficiently the recording of Court proceedings in order to keep proper records.
• Undertaking timely production and compilation of court returns in order to facilitate development of appropriate interventions.
• Preparing timely of books of accounts for the Local Court for submission to the supervising officer.
• Recording cases in the Local Court
Knowledge And Skill Requirements:
• Full Form V or Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate with Five (5) 'O' levels with credits including English and Mathematics
• Related professional skills is an added advantage
• Able to communicate effectively in English and Silozi language.

3. LOCAL COURT MESSENGER (SALARY SCALE JSS 03) X 06 POSITIONS- (ANNUAL BASIC SALARY OF K57,043.58)
The successful candidates will fill positions at Lutwi Local Court (Grade B)-Kalabo District, Kalabo Boma Local Court (Grade A)-Kalabo District, Lui Local Court (Grade B)- Senanga District, Mulobezi Local Court (Grade A)-Mulobezi District, Liande Local Court (Grade B)-Mongu District and Lumbo Local Court (Grade B)-Mongu District.
Job Purpose:
• To undertake effectively the service and execution of Court processes in order to facilitate administration of justice.
• Undertake effectively the service of the Court processes and execution of Court orders in order to facilitate Court process and enforce Court judgments. Ensure that there is order and security during Court processes and proceedings.
• Makes external contacts with litigants and Police on matters relating to Court processes and arrests.
• To arrest those found wanting by the Court.

Full Form V or Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate with Five (5) 'O' levels with credits including English
Related professional skills is an added advantage
Able to communicate effectively in English.

4. GENERAL WORKER GROUNDS (JSS 01) x 02 POSITION-(ANNUAL BASIC SALARY OF K 53, 625.88)
The successful candidates will fill a position at Sesheke Local Courts Office-Sesheke District and Suulu Local Court (Grade A)-Mongu District. She/he will report to Court Clerk and some of the responsibilities will include the following:
• Ensure that office surroundings are maintained and cleaned Landscaping
• General maintenance of the premises.

5. OFFICE ORDERLY (JSS 01) x 04 POSITION-(ANNUAL BASIC SALARY OF K 53, 625.88)
The successful candidates will fill a position at Mongu High Court-Mongu District and Mongu Subordinate Court-Mongu District and Kaoma Subordinate Court-Kaoma District and Sesheke Subordinate Court-Sesheke District. She/he will report to Clerk of Courts and some of the responsibilities will include the following:
• Undertakes regularly the cleaning of offices in order to make them habitable Undertakes effectively the cleaning of eating and drinking utensils in order to make them hygienic for use
• Undertakes effectively the cleaning of toilets and common areas in order to maintain a conducive work environment
• Undertakes promptly errands from officers in order to ensure smooth operations

6. POOL DRIVER (JSS 02) x 01 POSITION-(ANNUAL BASIC SALARY OF K 55, 241.83)
The successful candidates will fill a position at Mongu Subordinate Court-Mongu. She/he will report to Clerk of Court and some of the responsibilities will include the following:
• Undertakes regularly and safely the transportation of officer, materials and equipment in order to facilitate their mobility
• Undertakes timely the preparation of accidents reports in order to facilitate decision making
• Undertakes timely the completion of log books in order to enhance accountability for journeys
• Undertakes effectively the inspection of the vehicle under their charge in order to ensure their road worthiness
• Undertakes effectively the cleaning of the vehicle under their charge in order to ensure their suitability for use
• Undertakes timely the reporting of the vehicle's faults in order to facilitate their resolutions
Knowledge And Skills Requirements
• Full Form V or Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate with Five (5) 'O' levels with credits including English
• Driver's License
• Government Competence
Minimum Relevant Pre-Job Experience
