JOB DETAILS:
The Zambia Tourism Agency (ZTA) is a Statutory Body established under the Tourism and Hospitality Act No. 13 of 2015. The Act mandates the Zambia Tourism Agency to effectively market and promote Zambia as a tourism and travel destination of choice and to regulate the tourism industry.

VACANCIES
The Zambia Tourism Agency wishes to invite suitably qualified and experienced Zambian nationals to fill the following vacant positions:

1.0 MANAGER-COMMUNICATIONS AND CORPORATE AFFAIRS
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Manager-Communications and Corporate Affairs is responsible for Corporate Communications activities in order to build and maintain a positive image for the Agency.
Principle Accountabilities:
• Develops periodically a Communication Policy to guide information dissemination.
• Develops timely Public Relations and Media Plans to enhance the Agency’s visibility and image.
• Undertakes timely and accurately the preparation and dissemination of media releases to provide real-time information to the public and stakeholders.
• Responds timely and accurately to press and public queries to facilitate decision-making.
• Coordinates timely, the production of brochures, magazines, newsletters, promotional videos, and electronic publications to facilitate dissemination of information.
• Manages effectively corporate functions and events to project a good corporate image.
• Manages and maintains good relationships for all stakeholders of the Agency.

Qualifications, Experience and Personal attributes:
• Full Grade 12 School Certificate
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications or equivalent.
• 6 years relevant work experience with 2 years at Management level.
• Must be a member of the Zambia Institute Public Relations and Communication (ZIPRC).
• Able to write technical and analytical report.
• Computer literate.
• Interpersonal skills.

2.0 HUMAN RESOURCE AND ADMINISTRATION OFFICER
Reporting to the Head – Human Resource and Administration, the Human Resource & administration Officer is responsible for undertaking the human resource and administration functions in order to facilitate efficient and effective operations of the Agency.
Principle Accountabilities
• Undertakes effectively the formulating and implementation of human resource management plans in order to enhance staff retention and productivity.
• Implements effectively the industrial relations policies in order to achieve industrial harmony in the organization.
• Undertakes periodically reports necessary to carry out functions of the department in order to facilitate decision making.
• Undertakes efficiently human resource development functions in order to enhance staff performance.
• Updates effectively the Human Resource and Administration records in order to ensure ease access and retrieval.
• Undertakes effectively wellness programs in order to enhance awareness and mitigate the impact of ailments at the workplace.
• Undertakes effectively the provision of administrative and other logistics in order to facilitate efficient and effective operations of the Agency.
• Undertakes effectively the implementation of performance management in order to monitor, evaluate and enhance performance.
• Undertakes effectively human, financial and other resources in order to facilitate achievement of set objectives.

Qualifications and Personal attributes:
• Full Grade 12 School Certificate
• Bachelor of Arts in Human Resource Management or equivalent
• Knowledge of the Zambian labour laws
• Must be a member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM)
• Able to write reports
• Computer literate
• Integrity
• Confidentiality Interpersonal skills

3.0 MANAGER-QUALITY ASSURANCE
Reporting to the Chief Standards Officer, the Manager – Quality Assurance will be responsible to coordinate and supervise the development and review of minimum requirements, Tourism and Hospitality Standards in order to make Zambia a more competitive destination.
Principle Accountabilities:
• Coordinates periodically the development and review of minimum requirements, Tourism and Hospitality Standards in order to ensure compliance and competitiveness in the industry.
• Conducts regularly the inspections of tourism enterprises in order to ensure compliance to standards and requirements.
• Undertakes periodically the classification and grading of accommodation establishments in order to ensure uniformity within each category and cater for different segments in the market.
• Undertakes regularly the development, maintenance and publishing of tourism enterprises register in order to facilitate efficient storage and retrieval of information.
• Undertakes regularly tourism standards capacity building programmes in order to ensure adherence to standards.
• Coordinates effectively the implementation of performance management in order to monitor, evaluate and enhance performance.
• Coordinates effectively management of human, financial and other resources in order to facilitate achievement of set objectives.

Qualifications, Experience and Personal attributes:
• Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
• Degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management or equivalent.
• 6 years’ relevant work experience with 2 years at management level.
• Able to write technical and analytical reports.
• Computer literate.
• Interpersonal skills.

4.0 EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Assistant is responsible for the administrative and secretarial services in order to facilitate smooth operations for the Office of the Chief Executive Officer.
Principle Accountabilities:
• Ensures timely availability of secretarial services in order to enhance operations of the Office of the Chief Executive Officer.
• Records accurately and timely appointments for the Chief Executive Officer in order to facilitate decision making.
• Attends to and makes various communication timely in order to facilitate smooth operation of the Office of the Chief Executive Officer.
• Ensures effective maintenance of the CEO’s Office and equipment in order to enhance conducive working environment.
• Coordinates effectively local and international travel arrangements for the CEO and VIPs in order to ensure they meet official obligations.
• Takes accurately dictation in order to facilitate transcribing into mailable correspondence and documents.
• Undertakes effectively the provision and maintenance of registry services in order to enhance storage, security and retrieval of information.
• Attends timely to visitors in order to enhance the image of the Office of the CEO

Qualifications, Experience and Personal Attributes:
• Full Grade 12 School Certificate
• Bachelor’s degree in office management or equivalent Certificate in Shorthand (120 and Typing 65 WPM) 4 years’ relevant experience
• Able to write technical and analytical report Computer literate
• Interpersonal skills

5.0 POLICY, PLANNING AND INFORMATION OFFICER
Reporting to the Senior Manager – Policy, Planning and Information, the Policy, Planning and Information Officer will undertake the formulation and implementation of policies, strategies, and plans that will drive the growth and development of the tourism industry in Zambia.
Principle Accountabilities:
• Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan for Zambia’s tourism industry, aligning with the agency’s mission and objectives.
• Research, analyze, and advocate for policies that promote sustainable tourism growth, enhance visitor experiences, and protect Zambia’s natural and cultural assets.
• Collect, analyze, and disseminate tourism-related data and information to support decision-making and marketing efforts.
• Undertake effectively the management of domestic tourism information centres in key source markets in order to provide tourism information.
• Prepare and present regular reports to the executive team and stakeholders on the progress of strategic initiatives, policy outcomes, and key performance indicators.
• Undertakes the preparation annual reports that conform to the requirements of Parliament and preparing other reports designed to serve the various stakeholders’ needs;
• Ensures that the organisation is alerted to major strategic issues which might affect industrial growth and performance and propose appropriate actions;

Qualifications and Personal attributes:
• Full Form V/Grade 12 School Certificate.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or equivalent.
• 3 years’ work experience.
• Able to write technical and analytical reports.
• Computer literate.
• Interpersonal skills.
