We are looking for an Operation Manager to join our southern Africa Operational Organization based in Ndola, Zambia.

Main Responsibilities:
As an Operation Manager, your daily duties include but are not limited to:
• Plan, lead and manage daily operation activities at the plant and assigned team in order to ensure customer satisfaction and to reach set contractual quality, performance, financial, cost and time targets.
• Ensure operational reliability and availability of the plant according to agreement.
• Plant performance indices
• Development of competent operations resources
• Annual plan of operation / operational budget approved
• Operations Related Costs
• Manage assigned operational responsibilities in accordance with Agreement Management processes and procedures and general management practices in a safe and cost-effective way in order to exceed the customer expectations.
• Implementing preventive and corrective action as necessary.
• Responsible for all activities relating to the daily operations management of the power plant inclusive of planning and implementation of plant operations
• To communicate effectively with the plant team relative to the condition of the plant equipment and performance and to provide suggestions for improvements
• Administration and training of operations personnel.
• Setting and maintaining the qualification and training standard for the plant operations personnel.
• Ensure motivated operations personnel and good teamwork.
• Responsible for implementation of plant safety policy and QEHS procedures according to the assigned plan.
• Establish and implement standard operations policies and procedures in accordance with the Agreement Management Processes
• Prepare reports, plans and budgets as instructed by the Plant Manager
• To identify and actively seek to improve operational reliability and availability
• To approve the planning of maintenance program in line with the operational compromises.
• Negotiate costs and purchase material related to services for operations

Development Responsibilities:
• Development and improvement of the operation plan and all resources to its right implementation and administration
• Develop the operations working routines at the plant

Requirements for the position:
Education:
B.Sc. in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or equivalent with 5-10 years of managerial experience with large HFO/Gas based power plants operations.
