In September 2009, the Maryland Global Initiatives Corporation (MGIC) was formed as a nonprofit affiliate of the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) to help support the implementation of UMB international programs. UMB, through MGIC, currently has offices in Botswana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Zambia. MGIC’s administrative operations support the research and clinical programs of the School of Medicine, Institute of Human Virology (IHV) and Center for International Health, Education & Biosecurity (Ciheb), and other UMB entities.

Project Description
Maryland Global Initiatives Corporation (MGIC) Baltimore, USA, with funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is implementing through Community Impact to Reach Key and Underserved Population for Treatment and Support (CIRKUITS) program a CDC-funded PEPFAR Program being implemented by University of Maryland in Zambia with sub-awards to partners is entering its 4th year of implementation with slight modification to the scope of its portfolio and slight changes to the structure of implementation with the incoming of KP CSOs to support the Key Population component of the grant.
The Program Coordinator , will work closely with the SPM in ensuring the smooth running of the CIRKUITS program within the Maryland Global Initiatives Corporation Zambia. The PC will be responsible for providing programmatic and administrative support in the implementation of the CIRKUITS project. The PC will work in liaison with the technical, procurement, finance, and administration teams.
• Provide input required in the formulation of project budgets in line with the approved scope of work
• Monitor closely implementation of CIRKUITS project activities to ensure that all planned activities are executed as per approved scope of work and budgets.
• Support and facilitate capacity building efforts aimed at enhancing performance of the partners implementing the DREAMS and KPIF initiatives.
• In collaboration with the SPM and technical teams, lead the development of annual, quarterly, monthly and weekly workplans and ensure smooth implementation.
• Work closely with the finance team to prepare monthly projections.
• Work closely with the procurement teams in the procurement processes for both high and low value program services/goods, as well as travel logistics for all planned activities under the CIRKUITS project
• Work with the SPM to ensure timely production of monthly, quarterly, bi-annual and adhoc progress reports as per donor requirements and ensuring that follow-ups are done on flagged issues.
• Coordinate hosting, facilitate and attend partners, program and other meetings including minute taking during such meetings.
• Prepare quality correspondence including letters, minutes, program summaries, case stories as requested for by management.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned by management

Qualifications
• Diploma in project management or related field with 5+ years of work experience in a similar environment
• Demonstrated expertise working in a program management role in either government or non-governmental organizations.
• Demonstrated experience working with DREAMS and KP programming

Professional Skills:
• Demonstrate a good understanding of the project management processes
• Demonstrate good organizational and presentation skills.
• Must have good communication skills and be a good team player
• Must be good with numbers and must have strong analytical skills
• Fluency in English, both written and oral.
