JOB DETAILS:
Position Summary.
The Project Coordinator is PIN’s focal person at the field level under the Enhancing Livelihood Opportunities through
Ecosystem Protection in Barotse Floodplain of Western Zambia project. S/he is responsible for implementation of project
activities in close coordination with the line manager as well as implementing partner WWF, beneficiaries (smallholder
farmers) and other stakeholders such as financial institutions , Government Ministries, Local CSOs/CBOs , traditional leadership and research institutions. S/he will also be responsible for providing support to project team, regular project monitoring and evaluation, facilitating logistics operations and ensuring safety and security of the project team at the field.

Tasks and Responsibilities
Project management
• Undertake responsibility, in constant with the Project Manager, of implementing all project activities as per work plan schedule
• Monitor the progress and evaluate project performance regularly to achieve project deliverables.
• Identify risks and challenges pertaining to project delivery, report them and help the line manager put in place
mitigation measures to ensure smooth implementation of the project
• Collect lessons learned from the project and report them to the line manager regularly
• Support line manager prepare internal (IPR for PIN) and external (interim and final reports for donor,
stakeholders) project reports encompassing progress, risks and challenges, mitigation measures and lessons
learned
Financial management
• Adhere to and enforce PIN’s financial guidelines for all project related expenditure at the field level and report
any financial irregularities identified to the line manager
Monitoring an Evaluation
• Collect project data regularly using appropriate tools, store them in sharepoint and report them to the line manager
• Support MEAL department implementing MEAL activities (assessments, surveys) at the field level
• Support implementation of project CFRM based on PIN Zambia CFRM Framework Policy and Procedures

Logistics and Procurement
• Coordinate and collaborate with logistics department and the line manager regularly to manage day-to-day logistics needs for the project team at the field level.

Coordination
• Liaise regularly with all aforementioned project stakeholders including government institutions at local, district and provincial levels.
• Represent PIN in all meetings with partners, beneficiaries and stakeholders at the field level and build strong
networks and working relationships with them
• Make use of all communication channels to ensure efficient communication between field team and
implementing partners, beneficiaries and stakeholders
• Prepare weekly report based on activities completed, problems and challenges encountered, lessons learned
captured and plans for the upcoming week

Communication and Visibility
• Ensure adherence to PIN Media Policy and donor requirements and facilitate implementation of
communication and visibility plan at field level
• Collaborate with communication department and facilitate activities to collect visibility materials such as
beneficiary stories, photos, interviews etc.
Safety and Security
• Assess safety and security situation critically and inform line manager on regular basis to support him/her to
make informed decisions

Accountability and Safeguarding including Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (SEAH)
• Carry out the duties in accordance with the PIN Code of Conduct and Key policies
• Participate in training and awareness raising (CoC and KP, Safeguarding…)
• Support the project manager in the implementation of Safeguarding measures throughout the project cycle including risk analysis related to SEAH and Child protection at the project/program level and develop a mitigation plan accordingly.
• Create and maintain a fulfilling and protective environment

Requirements
1. Required Skills, Experience and Behavioural Competencies:
• At least 3 years of experience as programs staff.
• Analytical and problem solving skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to observe and provide feedback on the activities
• Excellent reporting skills
• Commitment to and understanding of PIN’s aims, core values and principles
• Fluency in spoken and written English and Silozi languages
• Good administrative skills, computer literate (working knowledge of MS Office)
• Self-starter and motivated, ability to plan and organize work independently
• Ability to work under pressure and react accordingly to evolving context/situation
• Bachelor or higher degree in relevant field (Project management, social work, Developmental studies, Climate related discipline and or other relevant)
