JOB DETAILS:
Cheshire Homes Society of Zambia (CHSZ) is looking for suitably qualified individuals for its 4 year CBM funded “Inclusion of children with neurodevelopmental disabilities” Project to be implemented in 3 districts of Lusaka Province (Chongwe, Lusaka and Kafue). The project runs from 01.10.2021 to 31.12.2024
In this project, the direct target group is to be trained via existing and newly formed Parent support groups, so that they can better support their children with neurodevelopmental disorders in everyday life. This is through a participatory training programme developed for parents/carers of children with cerebral palsy. The programme is designed to complement medical services and includes lessons on everyday topics related to child handling (feeding, carrying, communication, stimulation, etc.) delivered on a weekly basis to parents of children with neurodevelopmental disorders.

Reporting to: The National Coordinator, CHSZ (working closely with the Programme Manager – CBID)
Location: Lusaka, Zambia
Purpose of the Job
Assuming full responsibility for the overall management of the project, project finances, programmes, monitoring, learning and evaluation, staff, relationships with stakeholders (Government ministries, communities) and partners.
Overall Responsibility:
• Effectively managing project finances, staff and resources.
• Taking the lead in developing work plans and managing the monitoring, evaluation, reporting and learning function of the project.
• Taking the lead in the development, sharing and dissemination of monthly Key Performance Indicator reports, quarterly and annual reports.
• Managing the project communication and visibility plan.
• Working with partners to implement, monitor, report on and learn from the project.
• Developing links and building relationships with key partner officials, OPDs, NGOs / INGOs; training institutions and government ministries.
• Participating in and representing CHSZ at relevant forums, networks and meetings.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Development Studies, Social Work, Physiotherapy, or any other relevant qualification. A master’s degree will be an added advantage.
Other Essential Requirements:
• At least 5 years’ experience working in health, education, development, or social work sectors.
• Good understanding of the CBR/CBID matrix and guidelines
• Experience of developing and/or adapting training curricula
• Experience of developing and managing effective relationships with stakeholders.
• Experience of managing complex projects funded by institutional donors like EU, BMZ, USAID, DFID
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills (English).
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Able to work in a team environment.
• Good understanding of budgets and financial management and experience in managing institutional donor funds.
• Ability to work independently and ready to work outside normal work hours.
• Ability to travel locally and ready to work with rural and vulnerable communities.
• Excellent computer knowledge and skills.
