JOB DETAILS:
A Local Public Benefit Organization (PBO) seeks the services of a suitably qualified Projects Officer to be located in Mumbwa District of Zambia. This is a contractual job renewable annually.
Purpose of the job description
The Project Officer will coordinate a schools" project being implemented in the jurisdiction of Mumbwa District and surrounding areas in collaboration with the District Education Board Secretary (DEBS) office.
Responsibilities
The Projects Officer will be responsible for the following among others:
• Managing the local office, including deciding when and how often to visit sites where construction works are taking place.
• Identify and appraise potential vocational training centres/schools to be supported.
• Reporting on the project's progress, budget and resources.
• Overseeing projects and helping to mitigate issues and challenges.
• Scheduling tasks and managing resources.
• Quality assurance.
• Organising meetings and setting agendas.
• Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• construction works are taking place.
• Monitoring construction works in collaboration with District Education Buildings Officer
Qualifications:
• Must possess a full Grade Twelve Certificate.
• Diploma in Project Management or Development Studies. Degree in the relevant fields will be an added advantage.
• Computer Literate, proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• At least three years experience working in an NGO environment.
• Team player with excellent communication skills.
Skills & Competencies:
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Good understanding of the NGO working environment.
• Team player with excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to facilitate workshops/seminars.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and under pressure.

The successful candidate should be ready to work in a rural environment and ride a motorcycle for a radius of 100Km there about.
