JOB DETAILS:
Overview
A reputable construction company is seeking to employ suitably qualified and experienced individual to fill the following position;

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to;
• To prepare price/forecast the cost of the different materials needed for projects
• To prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation
• To track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjust budget projections accordingly
• To procure or agree the services of contractors and/or subcontractors who work on the construction of the projects
• To measure and value the work done on site
• To arrange payments for suppliers
• To act as a liaison between clients and site managers/engineers
• To select and/or source construction materials
• To build data base of production rates, suppliers and plant hire companies
• To prepare projected monthly expenditure reports
• To prepare monthly cost reports
• To give strategic guidance to Management team on QS best practices
• Though not mandatory knowledge of Kaizen practices is desired
• To carry any other duties that maybe assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required
• Bachelor Degree in Quantity Surveying
• Experience of 5 – 7 years on hands on QS
Experience in Zambian Construction contracts and Zambian bylaws in construction projects will be an added advantage
• Registered member Quantity Surveying Institute of Zambia
• Good interpersonal skills communication, report writing skills, negotiation skills, problem solving skills, analytical skills
• Demonstrable knowledge of construction industry practices
• Proficient in Microsoft project, Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD and other Quantity surveying related softwares
• Must know 2/4 wheeler driving and must possess valid license
• Candidates who do not fall into the above criteria need not apply
