Summary:
The U.S. Mission in Kigali is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for position of Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Mechanic.
The work schedule for this position is Full time (40 hours per week).
Supervisory Position: No

Duties
Performs journeyman level refrigeration and air conditioning installation, preventive and routine maintenance, and routine and urgent repairs on refrigeration and air conditioning systems and equipment in GO and STL office and residential properties. Knowledgeable of general mechanical systems, thermodynamics, controls, motors, and refrigeration and air conditioning components. Knowledgeable of electrical and plumbing systems as they relate to refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
Qualifications and Evaluations
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 3 years journeyman level refrigeration and air conditioning skilled trades in maintenance or construction work.
Education Requirements:
Completion of secondary school is required. Completion of 2 years vocational training or apprenticeship leading to a Journeyman Level Certificate as a refrigeration and air conditioning technician is required.
LANGUAGE: Level III English and Kinyarwanda (good working knowledge speaking/reading/writing) is required (This may be tested)
Must have a valid local driver's license.
A hands-on skills test will be conducted for candidates invited for interview.
Qualifications:
All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications and complete a mandatory probationary period for LE Staff.
