JOB DETAILS:

Duties and Responsibilities
• To plan monthly transportation requirements at regional level
• Ensure that 90% of the required transport capacity is achieved
• Manage relationships with local and foreign transporters
• Ensure that the company exceeds freight forwarding customer expectations
• Approve transport rates in line with the company policies
• Analyse and inform Management about any potential demurrage or statutory penalties arising from the Freight Forwarding business
• Issue weekly and monthly freight forwarding reports to Management
• To manage the freight forwarding team located in all the Zamcargo and logistics operating centres.
• Contacting potential clients to establish rapport and set up business meetings to promote commercialize able freight forwarding business for the company.
• Assist in developing business proposals, negotiating contracts, and act as a direct contact point.
• Participate in business development activities
• To ensure that SOPs are prepared for all projects and make sure that the staff are following the laid down procedures
• Skill Specifications of the Position Aggressive and with sense of urgency Proactive
• Problem solver Computer literate
• High level of integrity Good negotiator

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE
• Holder of Bachelor Degree in Transport and Logistics from a recognized University.
• Minimum of seven years of relevant professional experience in freight forwarding.
• Deep understanding of the freight forwarding industry, including regulations, international trade laws, and customs procedures.
• Strong leadership, technical competence and professional skills for timely implementation, coordination and management of activities.
• Ability to work in a team, develop synergies and establish effective working relations
• Membership to Zambia Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport is an added advantage
