JOB DETAILS:
Job title: Regional Tobacco Inspector
GRADE: TBZ 3
This is a senior position involving both field and office work. The position requires a person with high integrity, good management and public relation skills. He/she will report directly to the Chief
Operations Officer.

JOB PURPOSE
The purpose of this job is to coordinate the enforcement of the provisions of the Tobacco Acts of the
Laws of Zambia in the region and to ensure that tobacco stakeholders in the region comply with the requirements of the law in line with the mission and strategy of the Tobacco Board of Zambia.

KEY OUTPUTS
The Principal job Accountabilities for the position shall be as follows
Output 1: Region Operational Plan
Definition: Operational work plans of activities and budgets prepared and execution of activities coordinated in line with the department Action Plan
Output 2: Enforced Compliance
Definition: Infrastructure used for production, marketing storage, grading and processing of tobacco in the region conforms to statutory requirements and hygiene standards and no farmer or stakeholder contravenes the Tobacco Act.
Output 3: Conduct Tobacco Inspections
Definition: Conduct tobacco grower inspections and provide extension guide to all tobacco growers in line with the statutory and Industry requirements in the Region
Output 4: Registered Tobacco growers or persons
Definition: Ensure that all tobacco growers and other persons or organization authorized growing and intending to grow tobacco are registered as required according to statutory regulations and records are up-to-date, maintained and easily accessible for decision making
Output 5: Coordinated Tobacco Movement
Definition: Coordinate tobacco movement to the tobacco marketing sales floors in line with the established booking procedures.
Output 5: Investigated Record
Definition: Records and documents of information suspected of evidence of contravention of the
Tobacco Act are investigated and resolved.
Output 6: Controlled Chemical Usage
Definition: Ensure that approved tobacco seeds, fertilizers and chemicals are used in the production of tobacco and or fumigation of the tobacco storage warehouses of sales floors.
Output 7: Property Information
Definition: Information on inventory status of TBZ properties in the region is up-to-dated (tenants, lease agreements), submitted to real estates and informed decision taken
Output 8: Collected Rental Income
Definition: Rentals accumulated during the period for rented TBZ properties in the region collected and accounted for
Output: Monitor and execute TBZ projects
Definition: Execute and monitor all TBZ projects within the region and ensure project success.
Output 10: Trained Staff
Definition: Staff are trained and motivated to deliver the required levels of performance as stipulated in the operational plan through regular supervision and work schedules
Output 11: Operational Reports
Definition: Weekly, monthly, annual and special reports of operational activities in the region prepared and submitted for management’s decision-making

JOB SPECIFICATION
Education
Full Grade 12 Certificate with 5 ‘O’ levels with a Degree in Agriculture or any other related field in
Natural Resource Management or the equivalent.

Experience
At least a minimum of five (5) years of practical working knowledge acquired in an agriculture sector or industry.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must be of sober character, self-starter with excellent interpersonal, stakeholder engagement and public relations skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
