Registrar
The Veterinary Council of Zambia invites suitably qualified persons for the position of Registrar for a contract period of up to TWO (2) years, renewable, based on performance.

Job Description
The Registrar will be:
• The Chief Executive Officer of the Council and the Secretary of the Veterinary Council of Zambia (VCZ).
• Responsible for the day-to-day administration of the affairs of the VCZ.
• Lead the development of the VCZ’s long- and short-term strategies.
• Manage overall operations and make major decisions affecting the VCZ.
• Manage the VCZ’s resources.
• Negotiate or approve agreements and contracts for the VCZ.
• Resource mobilization and project implementation for the VCZ.
• Setting up administrative/organization structures for the Council.
• Development of work plans, budgets, Strategic plans and implementation of management of Human Resource and financial resources of the Council.
• Register, and ensure compliance of Veterinary Surgeons, Veterinary Paraprofessionals and Animal
• Health Facilities.
• Facilitate the inspection and the compliance of the prescribed standards of Animal Health Facilities

Qualifications and Experience
• Must hold minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Sciences, Law, Business Administration or a related area such as management or marketing, OR any other professional field with a minimum of five
• (05) years’ work experience.
• Experience in company secretarial skills and managing a Board is an added advantage.
• Must be computer literate with the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge in office management skills.
• Must be a Zambian citizen, with a minimum than two (2) years valid driving licence and be willing to travel, both locally and regionally in the normal course of duties.
• Must have thorough knowledge of the Zambian legislation that governs the Veterinary profession.
• Must be enthusiastic, sober-minded, self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision to accomplish tasks as set out in the job description.
• Must have excellent and demonstrable writing and communication skills.
