About Inclusive Crop Insurance Scheme (CIS) Zambia ESD Zambia, with technical support from KM Dastur & Company has begun the implementation of the second phase of the Inclusive Crop Insurance Scheme (ICIS) starting February 2022 in selected provinces and districts within Zambia The performance of the scheme was evaluated at the end of the pilot, and it was concluded that the Upscaling of the scheme across all provinces in Zambia was essential In an endeavour to integrate technology in the implementation and execution of the Inclusive Crop Insurance Scheme,FSD Zambia is keen to design and implement an agriculture (crop) insurance portal. This portal/ IT platform will bring in better administration and coordination amongst stakeholders, viz. farmers, insurers and channel partners, as well as real-time dissemination of information and transparency The Assignment As a market facilitator, FSD Zambia would like to support the procurement of services for Agriculture Insurance Administration Solution that captures end-toend functionalities in the insurance value chain for the inclusive Crop Insurance Scheme (CIS). Ideally, the system must include easy and preferably digital enrolment of farmers, smooth claims administration and timely claims pay out Integration or usage of payment gateway such as mobile payments is encouraged, Furthermore, the system should also include a robust database that can be used for the dissemination of information to farmers as this will be part of the value added services for the ICISP. Some functions of the Service Module include: standard interface (API) for various stakeholders to exchange data, pricing and execution, insurance policy administration, premium collection/receipting client management and claims settlement, user management, mobile and offline front-end, communication capabilities (eg SMS/email, and fast delivery of services.
