What is the Purpose of the Role?
The main purpose of the Safari Guide role is to showcase the natural splendor of the areas in which we operate to our guests and help to deliver a truly memorable, world-class guest experience in a safe, professional manner with the well-being of the guest and yourself being of paramount importance. The safari guide is at the sharp end of the spear of guest experience and service delivery. The majority of our guest’s time is spent in the hands of the safari guide whilst on safari, and the guide experience is of huge importance in shaping the overall experience. The gravity and importance of this role should be understood and appreciated by the guide at all times.
This position reports to the General Manager.

What would I be doing?
In broad terms the safari guide will undertake the following key responsibilities:
1. Showcasing the natural wonders and beauty of our unique operating environments to your guests in a safe, well-prepared manner.
2. Helping the wider team to constantly think of ways to enhance the safari experience for our guests and not fall into the temptation of monotony and complacency.
3. Working in an organized, efficient manner, with a keen appreciation and understanding for the need of good timekeeping and preparation prior to all activities.
4. Communicate openly and often with management and the wider team, with an understanding that good communication is essential to offering a best-in-class guest experience.
5. Always being neatly presented and constantly striving to lead by example by way of appearance and how you carry yourself.
6. Showing an exceptional appreciation and care for the environments in which we operate, ensuring animal and the wider environment welfare is critical to your decision making.
7. Taking pride in and showing complete accountability for vehicles, boats, guide kit and equipment, and all other company property.
8. Acting as an ambassador for the company in everything you do both in and out of uniform.
9. Flexible in nature, always prepared to undertake tasks outside of your line at work from time to time and understanding to the fact your services may be required in other properties within the group.
10. Self-motivated and eager to learn new skills, research topics and always strive to be one of the best guides in Zambia, if not Africa.

What experience do I need?
1. A valid, recognized guiding qualification in Zambia to undertake walks, drives, boating, and other guest activities.
2. At least 7 years’ experience guiding discerning clientele at a high level.
3. A clean, valid driver’s license.
