JOB DETAILS:
Main Purpose of the Job
As a Sales and Marketing Officer, you will be responsible to develop and manage profitable sales. To convert leads and opportunities into confirmed outcomes and sales. To develop long term relationships and contacts at all levels ensuring repeat business..

Key Responsibilities
• Sales Management
• Contribute to the implementation of the Company’s marketing strategy.
• Maintain current knowledge of developments in the Tea Sector, customer activity, competitor activity and our own portfolio of products.
• Use a multi-channel approach (Multi level training provision) to prospecting and customer relationship management in order to drive sales and enhance the customer experience.
• Research prospect customers, competitors and general market:
• Maintain up to date customer records and prospect pipeline
• Provide management reports to the Head and Marketing Officer
• Develop a scheduled customer call cycle
• Make effective use of marketing materials
• Deliver presentations to local businesses
• Maximise sales and marketing campaigns to increase customer awareness of products to hit sales targets by using selling, negotiating and project management skills.
• Contribute to sales and marketing campaigns and new training provision developments.
• To be the first point of contact for managing customer relationship including investigating problems and developing solutions while making recommendations to management.
• Assisting in preparation and implementation of marketing policies, strategies and evaluating results for improvement.
• Organizing and driving marketing campaigns to attract new members to the organization.

Marketing and Business Development
• Organizing marketing and branding materials for use by the sales team for enhancing KTIL’s visibility.
• To participate in and attend trade shows, exhibitions, conventions, to use such events to network and develop target prospect customers, contacts and relationships.
• Participate in the marketing/promotional activities.
• Work with all external agencies to ensure that KTIL Products are competitive and meet given specifications and are delivered timely. (Creative, PR, Media, merchandising, promotion, digital, etc.)
• Organizing, managing and coordinating the company’s participation in exhibitions and shows.

Reporting
• Preparing reports on current products with recommendations on the same.
• Conducting and compiling customer satisfaction surveys and market intelligence research for existing and new business.
• Taking part in customer feedback surveys and finding out ways to garner higher profits.
• Preparing accurate daily reports on customer service operations, challenges, achievements and areas that require attention or review.

Required Qualifications
• Minimum of 2 years working in the Retail and FMCG Sector
• Diploma in Marketing or Business related field from a reputable institution. Bachelor’s Degree in marketing will be added advantage;
• A registered member of the Zambian Institute of Marketing.
• Experienced user of software packages, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
• Proven track record of progressive administrative work;

Knowledge
• Pastel Partner (for payment processing);
• Safety procedures;
• Computer literacy;
• Calculation of Value Added Tax;
• Knowledge in distribution management
• Knowledge in planning for primary & secondary sale
• Knowledge in managing stock uplifting & market display
• Knowledge of executive office management and;
• Knowledge of office administration procedures.

Experience in Months: 24

Level of Education:
Associate Degree
