Job Description
• Accountable to the Director of Teacher Training Unit;
• Administer training and development programs for SBMs;
• Provide guidance and oversight of online platform for teacher professional development;
• Ensure implementation of REB SBM Framework, including alignment of stakeholder activities to REB SBM program goals;
• Design SBM development and training programs and materials for SBM preparation and teacher development subjects and traing SBMs;
• Develop SBM training strategies and work plans;
• Perform preliminary database design for any data base needs for tracking and monitoring SBMs;
• Ensure activities for in service training of teachers undertaken by different providers are complementary and mutually supportive;
• Design and implement monitoring and evaluation exercise for SBM program activities;
• Coordinate with Districts in collecting statistical termly returns from all public and government aided schools and use data to conduct analysis of program and give advice for nanagement and decision making;
• Maintain regular communication with district education officers, school leaders, Inspectors, teacher training curricular developers, and URCE for the purpose of planning, monitoring, and troubleshooting;
• Coordinate with the planning department in the implementation of planned programs in teacher management and automation of such processes both at headquarters and district levels.
• Write and present projects to mobilize funds for SBM activities;
• Analyze inspectorate reports and other reports on SBM activities and suggest appropriate interventions for training related matters;
• Promote establishment and good implementation of teacher communities of practice and school based inservice for teacher professional development;
• Ensure timely production and submission of all reports and other monitoring data for all SBM program activities;
• Ensure reliability, availability, recoverability and performance of all database systems;
• Carry out periodic SBM training needs assessment;
• Evaluate the impact of SBM training and development activities;
• Evaluate SBM training materials from districts and schools.
Job Profile
Bachelor’s Degree in Education Sciences.
Key technical skills and knowledge required:
• Knowledge on management and implementation of school based mentorship programme;
• Skills for developing monitoring and evaluation plans and frameworks;
• Report writing and presentation skills;
• Collaboration and team working skills;
• Effective communication skills;
• Management and administrative skills;
• Effective verbal, presentation and listening communications skills;
• Effective computer skills;
• Fluent in Kinyarwanda, English or French; knowledge of all these three (3) languages is an advantage.
