JOB DETAILS:
Overall Job Purpose
To supervise and undertake financial and economic appraisal, in order to determine the viability of rural electrification projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Financial and Economic Appraisal - Supervises and undertakes financial and economic appraisal, in order to determine the viability of projects
2. Smart Subsidies - Supervises and undertakes the processing of smart subsidies on rural electrification projects in order to promote participation of the Private Sector in the Rural Electrification Programme
3. Financial and Business Models - Supervises and undertakes the development of the financial and Business models for off-grid projects in order to determine sustainable tariffs
4. Market Assessments - Supervises and undertakes market assessments for rural electrification projects in order to determine demand for electricity and willingness and ability to pay for electricity
5. Financial Evaluation - Supervises and undertakes evaluation of financial performance for rural electrification projects in order to implement appropriate interventions
6. Risk Management - Manages the preparation and updating of the Departmental risk register in order to ensure effective management of risks
7. Management - Manages efficiently utilisation of human and other resources in order to realize the department's objectives
8. Performance Management - Supervises effectively the implementation of the performance management system in order to monitor and evaluate unit performance and development intervention measures

• Written Skills - Ability to write comprehensive and analytical financial and economic reports
• Oral Skills - Able to communicate fluently in English
