JOB DETAILS:
Senior Electrician (Siavonga)
Yalelo Ltd seeks to hire an experienced and qualified Senior Electrician who will lead the Electrical team to undertake a variety of electrical repairs and periodic testing within a Production area. The Senior Electrician will also ensure that there is strict adherence to health and safety regulations by the electrical team and that the service is efficient, customer-focused, cost-effective while ensuring that quality work is delivered all the time.

The Right Fit candidate will perform, among others, the following functions:
• Focuses and specializes in electrical design, installation, alteration, troubleshooting, repair, and inspection of main and branch circuits of interior and exterior electrical systems.
• Performs repairs on power distribution, transformer, emergency generators and other miscellaneous electrical components.
• Performs planning, estimating and commissioning of new construction and renovations of electrical systems, and equipment which requires direct involvement in calculating and balancing three phase panel loads.
• Reads electrical blueprints, diagrams, wiring schematics and other drawings.
• Compiles documents, analyses test data, and performs electrical calculations to determine source of problems and the corrective action to take.
• Uses various electrical test instruments to determine power requirements and availability.
• Assembles and installs lighting fixtures, switches, disconnects, electrical panels, junction boxes, conduit fittings, hangers, pulls wiring / cabling and makes wiring terminations
• Assembles, installs, tests, and repairs electrical conduits, fittings, electrical panels, switchboards, transformers, motor controls centres and motor starter.
• Ensures safe execution of each assignment as per work order
• Assigns, completes, and documents work requests utilizing the facilities (CMMS) Computerized Maintenance Management System
• Manages electrical contractor activities and work plans
• Manages and continuously develops the team of Electricians, ensuring that forecast labour and material resources are appropriately planned and allocated in accordance with projected workflow and agreed budgets
• Aspires to continuously improve in all areas of electrical engineering across the site
• The Senior Electrician Must Have:
Excellent communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• very sound understanding of electrical safety work culture
• Extensive knowledge of Electrical circuits, faults and troubleshooting techniques

Qualifications Requirements for the Senior Electrician are:
A minimum of advanced diploma in electrical engineering from a reputable institution.
• Minimum of 4 years work experience as an electrician
• Experience in high- and low-voltage electrical systems, working with and troubleshooting generator sets
• Experience in handling electrical equipment, maintenance, and repair
• Experience working in the FMCG Industry is an added advantage
• Valid competency certificates
• Must be an active member of EIZ.
