JOB DETAILS:
JOB PURPOSE
Planning, coordinating and implementing all electrical maintenance and repair activities in order to ensure maximum availability of plant and equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities
i. Develop and monitor electrical maintenance plans to maximise plant and equipment availability.
ii. Supervise and coordinate electrical maintenance activities to ensure high plant availability.
iii. Analyse electrical plant performance data and reports to resolve recurring problems in order to improve plant reliability.
iv. Design and implement energy management programs in order to reduce production costs.
v. Supervise contracted electrical maintenance works to ensure contractors are up to standard and complete tasks in time.
vi. Carry out periodic work site inspections to determine adherence to project objectives, work standards and safety practices, rectify the deficiencies identified and recommend areas needing improvements in the performance of projects.
vii. Ensure optimum and efficient utilization of resources within budget limits, (time, labor, and transport).
viii. Propose interventions to sustain or improve the delivery of quality service to our customers.
ix. Prepare engineering reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing data and trends for the performance of sewer and sanitation systems. Resolve engineering problems by collecting and analysing field data.
x. Provide technical advice in electrical plant and equipment to ensure improved availability and reliability.
xi. Manage and encourage staff, optimizes their outputs and effectively manages relationships in order to achieve organizational goals.
xii. Undertake and agree to performance targets and conduct appraisal for all staff under his/ her supervision.
xiii. Prepare and submit comprehensive technical analysis pertaining to electrical maintenance and repairs reports to the manager- maintenance on a monthly basis.
xiv. Performs any other duties that may be delegated from time to time by superiors.

iv. Knowledge of Engineering Procedures,
v. Working Knowledge of Plant, Electrical Maintenance and Engineering Procedures,
vi. High analytical skills / Knowledge of electric motor drive systems (Soft starters and VSDs)
vii. Exemplary work ethics.
Personal Attributes
i. Possess a high level of broad problem solving and analytical skills with ability to perform under pressure.
ii. Good critical thinking skills. Proactive and reactive thinking.

Qualifications and Experience
i. Full grade twelve certificate with five credits or better (including English and Mathematics) certified/ endorsed by ZAQA.
ii. Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical/Electronic engineering (Power) or its equivalent from a recognized university/institution.
iii. Member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ)
iv. 5 years’ of post-experience in a similar role.
v. Valid driver’s license
