BACKGROUND

Prime Insurance Limited is an insurance company, established in 1995 by Rwandan
investors. To harmonize the conduct of insurance market in Rwanda, the Regulator enacted a directive that required insurance companies to separate their general and life insurance businesses.

The Company is seeking to recruit highly skilled, self- motivated and experienced persons to fill the following post:

Senior Legal Officer

Under the supervisor of the Head Legal, Compliance and Company Secretary, the Senior Legal Officer ensures effective and efficient management of company funds, timely payments and compliance with financial regulations.

Job Title: Senior Legal Officer

Supervisor: Head of Legal, Compliance and Company Secretary

Duration: Open-ended

Salary: Competitive package based on qualification and experience

Closing Date: Friday, January 4th, 2019 (5:00 PM, Kigali time)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Checks documents or papers for compliance and correctness;
  
• Conduct legal research and preliminary investigation ;
  
• Conduct arbitration and mediation services
  
• Ensure that in his/her activities, he/she follow and respect all procedures
  
• Prepare weekly and monthly report as he/she will be required;
  
• Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
  

JOB SPECIFICATION

Qualification

• Bachelor Degree in Law.
  
• Postgraduate diploma in law is a must
  
• Have professional experience in the related field of 5 consecutive years
  
• Age must be less than 40
  
• Rwandan by nationality
  

Skills:

• Computer skills
  
• Fluent in English and Kinyarwanda
  
• Ability to follow specified Procedure
  
• Ability to Communicate and Negotiation skills
  
• Ability to work under Pressure
• Proficiency in record keeping and Data analysis
