Action Africa Help International (AAH-I) is regional African – led non- governmental organization that supports livelihood – challenged communities in East and Southern Africa to sustainably improve their well – being and standard of living. With Country Programs in South Sudan, Uganda, Zambia, Somalia and Kenya, AAH-I has over 20 years ‘experience working with communities in conflict and post –conflict situation
Action Africa Help International Zambia (AAHZ) is partnering with the World Food Programme to conduct pre-distribution, onsite monitoring, and post distribution monitoring in the on-going drought crisis emergency response in parts of western province. The intervention will be implemented in Lukulu, Mitete, Limulunga, and Kalabo districts of western province.
In order to achieve that, AAH-I is seeking to recruit well qualified, experienced and innovative individuals to fill the following position:
1.0 Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer x 1 Position
Type: Fixed Term Contract (4 months)
Reports to: Senior Programs Manager
Location: Mongu
2.1 Job Purpose:
The Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will provide technical expertise to the Monitoring Assistants as well as the enumerators on the monitoring processes. The SM&E will be responsible for the data collection, analysis, and subsequent reporting. The job provides technical support to the project team on M&E related issues such as approach and systems which include; monitoring tools, reporting and capacity building of staff in M&E. .

  Job Responsibilities:
• Lead monitoring team in the implementation of an M&E system and oversee routine monitoring activities.
• Monitoring the implementation of the Drought Emergency Response in western province
• Ensuring production of timely and high quality program monitoring and evaluation reports for evidence based accountability.
• Liaise with WFP and other stakeholders on the gaps during the distribution and monitoring processes.
• Facilitating development of participatory monitoring and evaluation systems
• Responsible for data review, analysis and reporting
• Collecting data from Monitoring Assistants to measure achievements against the performance indicators from all intervention districts.
• Providing leadership and support to staff working at community level


  Job Skills:
• Strong analytical and logical ability Monitor the implementation of all programme activities
• Provide leadership and support to staff working at community level
• Design and management skills
• Good moderation, facilitation and training skills
• Demonstrated ability to liaise and negotiate with government and social partners
• Ability to perform a variety of conceptual analyses required for the formulation, administration and evaluation of projects
• Excellent analytical skills
• Good computer application


Job Qualifications:
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Project Monitoring and Evaluation, or in statistics, demographics, public policy, international development, economics, or any other related field
• At least 3 years’ practical work experience in Monitoring, Evaluation & Research, preferably in Savings Groups
• Experience in participatory methodologies is an added advantage

Job Education Requirements:
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Project Monitoring and Evaluation, or in statistics, demographics, public policy, international development, economics, or any other related field
