JOB DETAILS:
Based in Lusaka, Zambia, Lusaka International Community School (LICS) is a co-educational, secular, fee-paying, non-profit school, which provides an internationally recognised education to a culturally diverse, globally-minded student body in a caring and supportive learning environment. LICS holds in high esteem its vision statement which is to “maximise the potential of future world citizens”.
LICS is a leading independent Pre-Primary, Primary, and Secondary School based in the leafy suburb of Roma in Lusaka, Zambia, and is a member of CIS, AISA, and ISAZ.
The school has an opening and is looking for a suitable individual to join the LICS community as a Senior Network and Systems Administrator.

1. Requirements
• Minimum 5 years experience in the technical and administrative management of large ICT networks (> 200 end-users)
• Up-to-date skills in server configuration, including virtual server configurations in Hyper-V and VMware (ESXi, in particular)
• Must have a thorough understanding and hands-on experience in computer networking, for example, VLANS. MPLS, RIP, OSPF, BGP.
• Proven network management of Controllers, Access points, security, data back-up, and recovery, routing and switching, etc.
• Proven IT skills with Windows and Windows Server (up to the latest version), and Microsoft Exchange Server
• Very good knowledge of all the products within MS 356
• Ability to Maintain an accurate record of all configurations and significant changes affecting the network to ensure accountability, reliability, and availability of network services.

2. Qualities

• Knowledge/Experience of/with Pastel and Dove Payroll system
• Proven leadership skills to plan/coordinate and implement all required ICT work together with the Team
• Proven skills in working in a multicultural setup
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

3. Qualifications
• Completed High School at Grade 12
• Minimum Degree in Computer Science,
• CCNA Routing and Switching, CCNA Security, CCNP & Microsoft Certifications added advantage.
• Member of the Information and Communications Technology Association of Zambia (ICTAZ)/Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ) with a valid Practicing Certificate.

4. Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
• Effective Network management to ensure continuous uptime of the internal network of LICS.
• Accurate Hardware management and maintenance to achieve the best possible availability and conducting required upgrades to match necessary software upgrades.
• Management of all servers to ensure constant availability (DC, DHCP, DNS, file, and mailing systems) incl. conducting required software or technical upgrades well before potential problems could occur.
• Management of effective Firewalls, (Anti-Virus, access controls, IPS) to protect Hardware, Software, and all end users from disrupting system operations through regular updates of the required protection system.
• Setup, implementation, and development of an effective backup system of all data, software, and profiles to ensure a complete system backup allowing a complete system restart within 8 hours.
• Set up, manage, and upgrade the data backup and recovery system according to required capacity needs or technical requirements/progress.
• Setup, maintenance, and development of Internet access for all users providing the highest possible uptime, appropriate down, and upload speed for different loads during working hours.
• Implement Qos and Bandwidth Management for optimal use of network resources.
• Assessment, development, and optimization of all power protection and backup systems for network, servers, and end-user units to ensure permanent availability of systems and data before proper shutdown procedures apply.
• Optimise the Wi-Fi coverage of the LICS network and implement adequate content filtering on devices used for learning.
• Set up a Central MDM for the management of Ipads, Chromebooks, and Windows machines on the network.
• Documentation of all systems and procedures (network, hardware, maintenance, end-user support, etc.)
