Position Description:
A six months short term contract with the possibility of extension to 1.5 years or more. You have the option to join the team at our HQ in Lusaka or work remotely. Your CV/resume should clearly demonstrate relevant experience through appropriate job or client project descriptions.

Job Role:
You will join the ProWeb team as a software developer contributing to the continuous crafting, developing, testing and deploying of short-cycle reliable software releases on a given software system project. You must be passionate in delivering professional quality work in line with the industry standards and the company's ideals.

Responsibilities:
• Contributing to wireframing & prototyping
• Contributing to user experience and user interface design
• Contributing to software systems architecture designing
• Contributing to low-level system design and analysis (class, activity, sequence and similar UML diagrams)
• Contributing to database schema design
• Object-oriented programming and/or scripting with good code-commenting skills and coding styles for easy review, testing and maintenance
• Development and consumption of RESTful & SOAP APIs
• Unit, integration and system testing that ensures verification plans are in place and adhere to great code quality at all times
• Handling software system DevOps (setup and maintain Git code repository; continuous development by automatic builds; continuous testing by auto unit, integration & system acceptance testing; continuous auto integration, continuous auto deployment & delivery; and continuous software system monitoring)
• Preparing system documentation
• Assisting in user acceptance testing
• Contributing to preparing technical training documentation
• Contributing to provision of technical training
• Working closely with project managers, analysts, designers and other peer developers
• Actively participate in troubleshooting, debugging and updating system

Qualifications and Skills
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or similar with 4+ years professional working experience in web, mobile or general software development
o or Advanced Diploma in Computer Science or similar with 6+ years of relevant professional working experience in web, mobile or general software development
• Knowledge and experience in the following: REST, JSON, HTTP, Unit Testing, Integration Testing, Git, CI/CD, SCRUM
• Good spoken and written English
• Familiar with the software development life cycle (SDLC) from analysis to deployment
• Good problem-solving skills
• Systematic approach to system development through clear documentation (flowcharts, layouts, & etc) of functionality, addressing every use case through creative solutions
• Experience in Java, C++, C#, Ruby on Rails or other object-oriented programming languages
• Experience in SQL or NoSQL database
• Understanding of OOPS concepts, Persistence, Threading
• Understanding of data structures and algorithms
• Experience in developing mobile apps, payment systems or USSD is a plus
• Experience in designing interactive applications is a plus
