JOB DETAILS:
Role
Responsible for conducting soil sampling activities, including technical data collection and storage for future reference, managing and maintaining associated equipment, organizing and handling soil samples, and ensuring timely and accurate reporting of test results for both Commercial and Small Holder Agronomy and Sales Teams. Additionally, this role supports the Commercial Department in sales service activities and periodically contributes to remote facility activities, as and when requested by the Operations Department.
Responsibilities
• Collect and geo reference soil, leaf and water samples as per agronomic and commercial guidelines.
• Operate, maintain, and ensure the proper use of soil sampling equipment.
• Store, prepare, and dispatch soil samples and optimize courier rates by drying and weighing samples to the minimum weight requirement for laboratory testing.
• Document ownership and digitization:
• Invoice preparation for sample requests outside of a customer’s annual sampling schedule.
• Courier arrangement and tracking relating to exports of biomass out of Zambia. i.e. phytosanitary and exports permits where needed.
• Purchase Order preparation and communication of specific sample analysis requirements with laboratories.
• Sample test result follow-up, distribution to relevant teams and record keeping of data by customer and test type.
• Custodian and first point of contact of data being loaded onto the Allfarm Digital Application and linking newly geo-referenced information with related historical data.
• Maintain accurate records and databases of sampling activities and sales support services.
• Provide sales support services including but not limited to:
• Small product and foliar deliveries to customers.
• Trial planting and monitoring at target customers.
• Assist with Commercial and Small Holder field and farmer day displays and marketing events.
• Assist with warehouse and facility activities, monthly stock counts, product re-bagging as and when required by the Operations department.
• Stand in as temporary store person as and when required by the Operations department.
• Adhere strictly to Health, Environment, Safety, Quality guidelines and standards with regards to self, the use of company operating tools, warehouses and facilities.
Competencies and Business Expertise
• Knowledge of operations and supply processes.
• Familiar with product storage methods.
• Understands health and safety procedures.
• Familiar with payment procedures.
• Able to do reconciliations.
• SAP knowledge is helpful.
• Skilled in computer use: Microsoft Office, email, internet.
• Problem Solving and Interpersonal Skills
• Able to follow instructions accurately.
• Able to identify problems, gather information, find facts, and suggest solutions.
• Good communication and relationship-building skills with staff and customers.
• Strong administrative skills; accurate and detail oriented.
• Help solve everyday warehouse issues.

• Honest and reliable.
Qualifications and Experience
• Secondary School certificate
• 1–2 years experience in a similar role and familiar with soil sampling, operations and computerized data systems.
