JOB DETAILS:
MPower Ventures, a pan-African venture backed start-up in the clean energy space (www.mpower.africa), is looking for an energetic new Head of Sales in Zambia. Together with our partners, MPower has already supplied thousands of customers with its solar systems. Our products range from solar home systems with matching appliances such as TVs, fans and refrigerators to productive use appliances and large systems for SMEs and medium-income class households . Our portfolio has recently been complemented with electric powered vehicles, making us one of the most innovative clean energy providers in Zambia.
To increase our footprint in Zambia and grow our sales we are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Solar Engineer based in Lusaka – Zambia. This is an exciting opportunity in a fascinating and rapidly growing field.
Your passion and your tasks:
Site assessment
Sizing and quotation
Products testing, maintenance and repair
Solar installations
After-Sales services assistance
Support in tender documentation and submission

Your qualifications:
• You must be able to organize work and manage a relatively small to medium sized installation on your own;
You must have a technical degree in solar engineering, an electrical background will be an advantage.
Tech-familiar with solar energy devices with strong ability for testing and repair;
You have at least 2 years of work experience onsite, including site assessment, solar sizing and quotation;
You are accountable and have outstanding reporting skills;
You are familiar with tenders as a service provider more specifically handling documentation to submit a proposal.
You own a driver’s License (not mandatory);
You can work both independently and as part of a team;
You are a team player and eager to learn new tools and roll-up sleeves to get the job done.
