Staff Chef
Overview
• To ensure the Chef is aware of his duties, processes and procedures within Africa Bush Camps organisation and to maintain standards in the staff canteen.
• Ensure that all meals are prepared accordingly
• Preparation of senior staff meals as per chefs menu planner
• Delegation of daily duties to the kitchen porters
• Kitchen and stock room walk through as per check list
• Fill out daily menu board noting times of meals when you are required
• Ensure kitchen team is adhering to safety and hygiene policies and procedures
• Confirmation of meal times
• Kitchen clean up as per close down check list
• Ensure a First in First Out process is used.
• Ensure no unauthorised entry into the kitchen / Fridges / Freezers
• Reporting to the Head Chef

Qualifications
• O’levels school certificate
• Diploma or Certificate in Food Production or relevant field
• Experience in a variety of different kitchens
• Proven creativity in menu planning and recipe creation
• Ability to ensure meals are produced on time, and sufficient quantities are available
• Thorough knowledge of food preparation and servicing
• Ability to communicate effectively and maintain stock levels of all kitchen supplies
• Be available for functions as they arise to ensure that the food is prepared and served as required
• Friendly and pleasant personality
