Being a greenfield Investment the organisation the organisation is hinged on driving its growth through Financial Technology to enhance its product delivery in the local markets.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role at Fincred Finance located in Kitwe for a Systems Administrator. The Systems Administrator will mainly be responsible for managing and maintaining the organization’s computer systems, including the servers, storage, and networking devices. The Systems Administrator will also be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, ensuring system security, and creating system backup and recovery plans. Other duties will include;
• To organize and implement servicing and support of all ICT systems.
• To recommend information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes, identifying problems and evaluating trends,
• Developing application and database architecture and design, writing code, validating data acquisition and output media/formats,
• Maintaining, Investigating and troubleshooting Database Systems used by the main loan management application, Microsoft SQL and MYSQL.
• To maintain the IT Assets for the company and maintain the ICT databases; update the database whenever there is a change.
• Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements. This task includes ensuring that all computer software and antivirus applications are up to date.
• Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
• Writing queries in Transact-SQL to retrieve and generate reports using Crystal Reports and Pentaho
• Troubleshoot issues and outages.
• Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls.
• Upgrade systems with new releases and models
• Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies.
• Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies.
• Maintain and track all company Social Media platforms.
• Any other duties assigned by the Manager ICT
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Experience in system administration, network administration, and infrastructure management
• Proficiency in using modern database management systems such as MS SQL and Mysql.
• Previous experience working as a Systems and IT Administrator
• Comprehensive understanding of the Fintech Industry
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Self starter with ability to work under pressure and take ownership of issues
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or other relevant certifications are a plus
